Field Trip to Wigglepods Studio (Parent-Child): MFS Marine Terrace
Date: September 18, 2019
A healthy relationship between a parent and a child is essential in a child’s development and should begin as early as infancy. Children form strong attachments to adults who give them their undivided attention and are able to meet their needs. The presence of healthy relationships and interpersonal interactions in children’s life can help in the development of their different domains – physical, cognitive, emotional and social.
Music is a universal language and at Wigglepods, we put together a series of activities and design a highly participatory music movement session that celebrates the special bond between parent and child. The parents and children from MFS Marine Terrace spent their morning singing, moving, playing and creating together with us as we had some hands-on experience with some percussion instruments and props. The parents definitely had a great work out, as well, as they engaged their children in different bounce plays and locomotive activities to maximize their experience with the music introduced. It was so heartwarming as we hear the laughter from both parents and children, and watched how they were bonding through these purposeful activities.
