I’ve Got the Rhythm in MusEum: A Learning Journey about ‘GROWING UP’ in Singapore
Date: February 10, 2020
Venue: National Museum of Singapore
It takes a village to raise a child! That was the Kampong Spirit in the 1950s and 1960s. In partnership with the National Museum of Singapore and National Arts Council, Wigglepods got to work with some teachers to relive the gotong royong (Malay for ‘community’) spirit, where we grooved to the music from the 50s and 60s, and had fun with rhythmic activities that built community and friendship through folk dances.
The room was filled with laughter as the teachers explored the ‘Growing Up’ gallery at the National Museum of Singapore and got to reminisce their favorite childhood games such as 5 Stones Zero Point, Chaptei and Kuti Kuti. What a day to let us feel like a child again!
