Singapore Kindness Movement: Music and Movement Workshop “Kindness, Please!”

Date: April 20 & April 24, 2020
Venue: Zoom (Online)

With the global pandemic happening today, we spent many weeks cracking our brains to make adjustments to the content of our workshops and finally had the courage to bring them online!

We were honored to have been engaged by Singapore Kindness Movement again this year to share ideas about teaching kindness and respect in the early childhood classroom with music and movement as a tool. Using a kinaesthetic and exploratory methodology, the teachers got to experience a virtual hands-on session in music and movement activities suitable for young children. They also got the opportunities to collaborate virtually in groups by engaging in discussions and working on activities together. We were so heartened by the participation of the teachers despite the limitations and are so happy to have been able to to equip these teachers with sufficient experience to use music and movement to promote general courtesy, turn-taking, cooperation, respect and appreciation of others with their children.

Testimonials/Feedback:

“Thank you to all the facilitators for the workshop. It must have been tough having to do an eTraining with the internet lagging and unclear audio, but you guys did amazing job today! Especially Lavina being super clear when delivering all the pointers and being helpful to make sure that we are all on the same page! Thumbs up to Shalene and Grace as well for being enthusiastic throughout the session!”

“Good job even if we’re in zoom we danced and moved around the room.”
