Venue: Golden Jasmine Hub
Interaction between older adults and children benefit both. According to Erik Erikson, developing connections with a younger generation can help older adults feel a greater sense of fulfilment. Children can also learn new skills from older adults.
We collaborated with Zion Bishan Kindergarten in their “Start Small Dream Big” Project. The children had so much fun singing, moving, grooving and playing with the elderly residents at Golden Jasmine Hub to the music of Elvis Presley’s ‘Jailhouse Rock’ and an old time favorite, ‘Chan Mali Chan’. It was such a heartening sight to see both the children and elderly residents exchanging conversations, and getting themselves engaged and enjoying the various activities together.
